National Defence Academy & Naval Academy examination is
the sought-after defence examination in the country among young aspirants who
want to serve the nation. The Union Public Service Commission holds the
recruitment of NDA and NA exam as NDA- I and NDA- II twice every
year in April and September. The exam is conducted for recruitment of the
candidates to regular Army, Navy and Air force. This is a National level
entrance examination. Every year lakhs of applications by the young aspirants
from all parts of the country. Candidates who are willing to join the defence
forces this is the best gateway to serve the nation.

NDA and NA examination Important Dates 2022
The UPSC commence the NDA and NA examination 2022 from December 30, 2021. As per the
latest UPSC Calendar, tentative exam dates are given below-

NDA & NA 2022, Eligibility
Criteria
Candidates willing to appear for the NDA and NA exams are
required to fulfil the eligibility conditions.
Nationality
Applicant must be an Indian citizen/ subject of Bhutan/
subject of Nepal or refugee of Tibet (came to India before 1st
January 1962 and settled permanently in India.
Candidates, migrated from Burma, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and
East African countries of Tanzania Zambia Uganda, Malawi, Zaire and Vietnam or
Ethiopia with an intention of settlement in India are also eligible to apply.
Foreign national (except Gorkha) will be required to produce
eligibility certificate issued by Govt. of India.
Age, Gender & Marital
Status
Age: Candidate age should be between 16.5
– 19.5 years. For NDA-I candidate must be born between 2 July 2003 – 1 July 2006.
For NDA- II, he must be born between 2nd January 2004 – 1st January 2007.
Gender: Male & Female candidates are eligible to apply
for NDA Exam.
Marital Status: For NDA, the male candidate should be
unmarried. The candidate will not be allowed to get married until completing
their training.
Educational
Qualification
For
Army Wing of National Defence Academy: 10th & 12th passed from a recognized board or
university.
For
Air Force and Naval Wings (Cadet Entry Scheme): Passed 10th & 12th level from a recognized board or
university with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.
Appearing: Candidates who are appearing in 12th level
or waiting for result will be eligible.
Physical
Fitness
Candidate must be physically fit
according to the physical standards set by the commission.
NDA & NA 2022, Exam Pattern
Students can check details of NDA Exam pattern below:
Exam Mode: Pen-paper based (offline)
Language of Paper: English or Hindi language.
Type of Questions: objective type of questions.
Number of Section: The paper will be divided into two
sections : Mathematics & General Ability Test
Total Marks: The paper will be of 900
marks (Mathematics – 300, General Ability Test – 600). Also, the interview
round i.e.SSB will be of 900 marks.
Marking Scheme: 33% of the mark assigned to the
question will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

The interview session will carry 2 stages as
